SPRAAKMAKERS

Spraakmakers is a new touring concert series, developed by Frankly and Johan Idema, that pairs chamber music with contemporary stories. In the first national tour (2022) we paired the voices of master storytellers Pierre Bokma, Jade Olieberg Gijs Scholten van Aschat, Rick Paul van Mulligen and Ramsey Nasr with the music played by ensembles the Ragazze Quartet, Holland Baroque, Berlage Saxophone Quartet and Calefax.

In the third tour, Ellen ten Damme, Soumaya Ahouaoui and Lars Brinkman are the narrators in stories about animal rights, designerbaby's and a catholic childhood. Together with Pianoduo Scholtes & Janssens, ADAM Quartet and Berlage Saxopohne Quartet, they forge stimulating stories into one new narrative. Told and played at the same time, like a theatrical music story. The Flemish theater maker Lucas De Man is a flamboyant host and involves the audience during a theatrical evening that has many surprises. Spraakmakers is meant for anyone interested in today's societal topics and new meaning in classical music.
