Star harpist Lavinia Meijer and the New York violist, radio maker and curator Nadia Sirota take you on a journey through special music, stories and anecdotes by composers who have a big influence on today´s classical music. After collaborations with Olafur Arnalds, Philip Glass and Iggy Pop, Meijer continues her relentless search for new music and partnerships in this concert with yMusic viola player Nadia Sirota.
Sirota has been a new music programmer for the New York Philharmonic Orchestra since 2018 and won the Peabody Award in 2015 for her podcast ´Meet the Composer´. A better advocate for today´s music is hardly imaginable. The program includes the world premiere of Ludwig-Leone´s ´Past Life´, written especially for this program and 4 world premiere arrangements including ´Lumee´s dream´ by Ellen Reid from her Pulitzer Prize winning opera ´p r i s m´ (2019).
