Frank is artistic and managing director of Birds of Paradise. He founded this festival together with composer Brechtje van Dijk, which had its first edition in March 2022 in TivoliVredenburg.
Birds of Paradise only presents new productions and Dutch premieres by makers who operate on the verge of genres and disciplines. Each year, the festival showcases five birds of paradise, curating a program of one-off performances and other in-depth artistic experiences – both live and online. Each artist curates an extensive context program with items such as podcasts, interviews, playlists and essays that are part of their Artist Room on the festival site, designed by visual artist Mees van Amesfoort.
